How Many Super Bowls Have the Steelers Won

Pittsburgh Steelers have won six Super Bowls in total (from eight appearances) - of those, four came in six years (after the 1974, ‘75, ‘78 & ’79 seasons) with Chuck Noll coaching and the likes of “Mean” Joe Green, Terry Bradshaw, Lynne Swann, Jack Lambert and Franco Harris on the roster. The others came after the 2005 and 2008 seasons - the former saw them become the first #6 seeded team to win a ring by beating the top 3 conference seeds on the road en-route to the Super Bowl (in Jerome Bettis’s final game, in his home city of Detroit) and the latter was the 27–23 win over the Cardinals sealed by Santonio Holmes’s tiptoe TD catch at the back of the endzone in the dying seconds of the game.
